Fair-trade Fortnight 2023
Fairtrade Fortnight has been lead by our Heads and Deputies this year following the Fairtrade Lancashire Conference for children.
All classes were set the challenge to raise awareness for Fairtrade. We look forward to seeing what they do!

Wow! What an amazing afternoon! Today we visited Carr Hill to watch a performance of Matilda Jnr. This was a great experience for the children and hopefully it has inspired some children to dream bigger!. It was great to see the Carr Hill students perform on stage and we believe that this will give our children the confidence to follow in their footsteps!

World Diabetes Day 2022
Thank you to our Year 4 pupils who educated us today in Worship in our ‘wear something blue’ day in aid of raising awareness of Type 1 Diabetes and the charity JDRF. Thank you to all the families who supported this fundraiser and there is still time to donate on the parent pay app if you haven’t done so already. We thank everyone for their generosity.

Heartbeat Charity Assembly Health Week
Thank you Lisa from Heartbeat Charity who with the help of Cardiac Carl improved our knowledge of how to keep our hearts healthy and the work they do in the local community to help people with heart conditions 😊.
Well done to everyone who took on the 1 Mile Challenge on such a hot day! We are so proud of you and your generosity raising over £700 for our chosen charities. THANK YOU.
EYFS and KS1 Sports Day 2022
Well done to all our younger classes in school who showed great Sportsmanship in our 2022 Sports Day on our school field. We loved watching you competing and being resilient in trying your best to win for your team and then compete in the individual track races. Well done 👏🏼 and a big thank you to all the parents and carers who came to support us. 😊
Kirkham and Wesham Club Day 2022 Our Walk of Faith
The sun shone and it was an amazing day for our school family after covid disrupting this historic event we walked with Christ Church to show our faith and commitment to God with our local community. Our Red, white and blue theme celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee and her role as the head of our church.

Our Jubilee Crown Competition was a brilliant success in school. Thank you to all the classes who made such wonderful crowns to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee.
Passing on the Queen’s Commonwealth Baton 🇬🇧👏🏼
Today we proudly carried the Baton which has been travelling to schools near us this week. Our Heads and Deputies took on the responsibility of receiving it from the children of St Joseph’s and running the baton to Kirkham and Wesham Primary celebrating the Queen’s Commonwealth. Thank you to all the school and some of our neighbours who came out to cheer them on too. It was a very exciting occasion 👏🏼.
Our Queen’s Jubilee Bake Off Competition 🇬🇧
Well done to all our brilliant bakers in school who took part in our Wesham Bake Off Competition and PTA fundraiser. We were so proud of all your delicious entries celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee. Congratulations to all the winners in each class and the overall school winner - Amelia in Year 2 😃.

Motivate-with-words (World Book Day Special)
Today we invited all families to join us read in church. Everyone was given a warm welcome with a hot chocolate (served by Mr Allen and the team). Our church was then full of families reading together and enjoying their new books that they purchased from the BOOK FAIR! At the books fair we raised so much money that we can now buy £400 pounds of new books for our library. The event was ran by Mr Draper, Mr Allen, the Head Boys/girls and deputies plus lots of helpers in and around school. BUT this event was only a massive success because of the amazing families that we have at our school! Thank you!

World Prayer Day for Ukraine
Friday we joined together as a Christian family with other Christians around the world to pray for peace and for all the people of Ukraine. Year 2 and 3 created prayer hands where children could write their personal prayers on there.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2022
Head Girl and Boy Year 6 Lesson about the Knife Angel Sculpture
Amy and Zane led a lesson with Year 6 teaching them all about the Knife Angel sculpture which they had visited at Blackburn Cathedral as part of the Pupil RE Conference. The impact of the lesson was it allowed year 6 to reflect on the sculpture and the message of peace which it represents.
