The children have been really curious about the topic this half term, all about exploring the sadness and joy of Easter. We had lots of questions to find out and who better to answer them...Reverend Anne. We learnt that the service on Good Friday in church is a very sombre event where all the furniture and furnishings are taken out. Reverend Anne wears all black. On Easter Sunday the service is a very happy occasion, with flowers and all the furniture is put back into church and Reve Anne wears bright colours.
In RE we did some guided meditation taking us through the Christmas story. We reflected upon how special baby Jesus was and devised some fantastic questions that we could ask the shepherds. Some children then took themselves to our Worship table to reflect upon what we had learnt and gave thanks to Jesus for the special people in our life.
In R.E. we have been going on a quest to find the answers to many questions in our topic 'Called By God.'
We invited Reverend Anne into school to ask her all about her 'calling.'
A few of the questions that we asked:
- What was God's first job for you?
- Are you a prophet like Moses?
- Has there been any signs that God is with you?
- Did God ask you to be a Christian?
- What jobs has God asked you to do?
