Week: 22nd May
In Maths this week, it has been all about money. We have spoken about what we need money for in every day life and the different ways we can pay for things; card, coins, notes, using our mobile phones. We spoke about how we can earn money and what jobs we would like to do when we are older to earn our own money. We also thought about jobs we could do around the house to earn some pocket money now.
We made our role play area into a fruit and vegetable shop so we could play shop keepers, played matching the coins to the correct amount on the computer and recognised different coins; 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2.
In PE, we played lots of games practising all the skills we have learnt this term. Our favourite was Spider-Man Tig or Treasure Island. We talked about different ways to travel, how to quickly change direction and running into space.
We loved our first Sports Day at school. All our practising of the different skills in PE, definitely paid off Thank you to all the grown ups who came to cheer us on. The children did very well in all the races and I saw lots of fantastic sportsmanship from them all.
Our caterpillars have come out of their chrysalis looking a little bit different. We looked in awe and wonder at the beauty of this amazing transformation.
