Week Eight

In school, this week is all about being healthy. We are learning all about keeping our body and mind healthy.
In maths, we counted how many times we could run around the playground, bounce a ball and how many star jumps we could do in one minute. It was good fun, we worked as a team to count and cheer each other on.

We were very lucky to have a mini sports event with Year 6. They set up throwing, javelin and balancing activity for us to try. Even if we found it tricky, we showed our resilience and kept on going. At the end we had a water relay race to see who could fill their bucket up first. Great team work EYFS!! And a big thank you to the year 6 for arranging it.

In RE, we learnt about the Pentecost. We spoke about why and how it was celebrated in our Church.
We made our own fire head bands, some white doves and made swirling winds with our wands.

We had so much fun at our sports day. The children showed fantastic resilience and encouragement to others. All our work in PE with throwing, running and balancing has really paid off.

To finish our health week, we did a fun run to raise money for Heartbeat and Ronald McDonald House charity. The children ran with their Y6 buddies. It was lovely to see the children running together, cheering each other on and encouraging others to keep going. The sun was hot so there was lots of resilience shown to keep running.
