Week Six

We enjoyed sharing our forest school session with our year 6 buddies. We made dens to shelter and had food. What a fun afternoon in our great outdoors!

In maths, we have been revising our 2D shapes. We got creative and made different things using the shapes including a spaceship, castle and Big Ben.

We have been busy learning about our amazing queen. We have been looking at lots of facts about Queen Elizabeth ll. We learnt that she likes dogs, horses and her favourite Bible story is The Good Samaritan.

We made crowns and enjoyed parading in the school hall and showing them off to our school council.

We have been reading the story ‘ The Queens knickers.’ We have designed our own knickers for the queen for the Jubilee. We wrote a sentence about our design using our phonics knowledge. We have been concentrating on our three rules when writing a sentence.
1. Does my sentence start with a capital letter?

2. Does my sentence finish with a full stop?

3. Does my sentence have finger spaces?

Our mini-me’s have been visiting the Queen. We have loved playing with the castle. The story lines have been lovely to observe. We have been making the Queen a cup of tea, looking after her and even walking her Corgi’s.

We went with our buddies to welcome St Joseph’s who brought us the baton as part of the Spar Lancashire School Games Commonwealth Games. We were very proud to be a part of this and the children did a brilliant job of cheering and waving our Head and Deputy boys and girls off on their journey.

Our street party was held in the hall instead of outside due to the British weather! It didn’t stop us having lots of fun though. We sang songs and said a prayer thanking God for our amazing Queen. The picnic food was yummy.
