Welcome from our Headteacher Mrs Panther
Welcome to Medlar with Wesham Church of England Primary School
Our Christian Vision:
'We are a loving, caring, distinctively Christian family, providing education in a safe and happy environment, where every individual is valued as a child of God.'
Welcome to our school family, where children are on a journey, striving to be curious, resilient and confident learners with our Gospel Values at the heart of all our actions. In learning together, we support each other to reach our full potential in a safe and stimulating environment where all are valued and respected with our 'Wesham Way' underpinning all we do.
Our high expectations and standards are combined with a sense of creativity, excellence and enjoyment. Our vision is for all children to develop a real love of learning, thirst for knowledge and a care and concern for each other. Our school motto “More Than I am”, encourages and guides everyone in our school family to be the best that they can be!
Our school is a Church of England Primary School, set in the heart of Wesham. The school was founded in 1880 and we enjoy close links with the parish of Christ Church, Wesham. We are on a split site with Year 4 and 6 being educated in the Pavilion Building next to our vast school field, 'outdoor adventures' forest school area, trim trail, outdoor gym and sports track.
The children are taught in mixed age classes in EYFS/Y1 and Y1/Y2 with single age classes in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6. The mixed-aged classrooms are beneficial for our younger children's development. They can generate a family of learners who support and care for one another, just like in our single aged classes. Whatever the class, learning is adapted so that it meets the needs of each individual child.
I feel incredibly privileged to lead our happy school, and support our wider community as part of a dedicated team where, home and school work together to secure the best outcomes for all our children.
Everyday is Open Day at Wesham C of E and we would love to show our around our school, introduce you to our children and staff and to our vast school grounds and outdoor provision.
