Portraits

Our final portraits

Our final portraits - how good are these! We have now added hair to our portraits and they are now complete. We now know the anatomy of the human face and have ensured that we have the correct amount of eyes, nose, ears, lips etc on our portraits. We used Picasso’s style of painting as our inspiration and worked with varying sized brushes to add detail to our portraits.

Drawing Lips

We now know the steps involved to help us successfully draw realistic looking lips. After we practiced in our sketchbooks we then added a mouth to our portraits.

Drawing Noses

We now know the steps involved to help us successfully draw realistic noses. After we practiced in our sketchbooks we then added a nose to our portraits.

Drawing Eyes

We now know the steps needed to successfully draw realistic looking eyes. Once we’d practiced in our sketch books, we added two eyes to our painted portrait.

Mixing Shades

Can you guess who is who?

Today we used our knowledge of the colour wheel and mixing to create varying shades of 'skin colour'.  we have been inspired by the thick brush strokes of Picasso and now know how we can create texture in a 'flat surface' by using different shades of the same colour and by applying paint with different sized brushes.  We were very proud of the final results!
