Safeguarding
Safeguarding in our school!
Medlar with Wesham C of E School fully recognises the contribution we can make to protect children from harm and to support and promote the welfare of all children who are pupils at our school. Safeguarding we believe applies to all stakeholders; this includes pupils, staff, parents, governors, volunteers, placement students and visitors.
We give clear direction to all stakeholders about expectations and our legal and moral responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children at our school.

Operation Encompass
The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children who have been involved in a domestic abuse incident. Following an incident at home, children will often arrive at school distressed, upset and unprepared for the day.
Operation Encompass has been developed so that if one of our children has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident the designated safeguarding leads will have been informed by the following day. This helps us give prompt support for the child involved.
Encompass lead for school is Claire Panther (Headteacher)
