Thursday 12th May 2022

Today we used a variety of media to layer our final pieces.  We were inspired by the artist Henri Rousseu’s work.  We all chose our own background and painted this using watercolours, drew and painted our own sloths, mixed our own colours to the shade we wanted before putting it altogether. 

Tuesday 10th May 2022

Today the children experimented with with water colours for the first time. They were curious as to what would happen with the shade when adding more water.  Some children thought the colour would get darker and were surprised to find it actually turned to a lighter shade.  Looking forward to seeing our end pieces of art work based upon the rainforest. 

11th February 2022

This half term the children have been learning all about life during the Stone Age. In our sketchbooks we have been developing different skills using the Stone Age as inspiration. We have learnt about the Stone Age using different media to sketch it using tone and shade in our books. We then learnt how to mix different shades and tones of blue creating a whirlpool of colour. We enjoyed experimenting and thought carefully about annotating our work.
