This funding is allocated to schools on a per pupil basis between Autumn 2020 and Summer 2021. 

How it is intended that the grant will be spent

Children’s achievement in basic skills in reading, writing and maths are checked each term mainly through NFER assessments. We have measured the impact on individual children’s achievement by comparing before and after school closures during 2020. The funding is to be spent on increasing the level of group teaching for those children either by increasing the teacher/ teaching assistant hours with children.

How the effect of this expenditure on the educational attainment of those pupils at the school will be assessed

Termly assessments of children’s achievement in these basic skills will be reassessed each term and the use of additional teaching adjusted accordingly.
